They way I create game design documents is somewhat different from the regular game design documents. I learned this technique from my teacher, Stone Librande, who introduced this technique in 2010. Typically no one likes to read design documents with tons of pages and people tend to read documents individually. Rather than writing pages of game design documents, I personally prefer using infographic design document to represent high-level concept ideas. Normally I print out a poster size document and tap it on the wall in the office, so everyone can see it and talk about it together. Therefore using one page design document can also improve team communication and brainstorming. Once the team understand high-level concept of the game, I start to work on the detailed document to explain detailed information of each session.
